During the course of my translation, I used a variety of resources. For my cultural issues that I encountered, I used google and searched google maps to find out about the different towns, cities and lakes. For my research on the young girl who was killed, I typed her name into google and I found newspaper articles on her death to find the information that I thought was missing from the Spanish news articles.
To battle my problem with words that I did not know in English or any “false friends”, I used a variety of online dictionaries and resources. The online sites that I used the most were www.spanishdict.com and www.linguee.com I found these sites to be the most useful. Most of the time when I wanted to translate a word, I would type the word in to both sites and compare the answers, just to be extra sure that I had the right meaning in the context of the sentence in which I was translating.
